About

Ali Cihan Kayalıoğlu is a ceramic artist whose work explores the impact of modern life on human existence through a surreal language and emotional transference. Existential phenomena that are suppressed, transformed, forgotten, or rendered invisible within the pace of everyday life form the core of his artistic practice. These phenomena gain meaning through the relationship established between the artwork and the viewer, reshaping themselves with each encounter.

The freedom of color, texture, and form offered by ceramics, along with its ability to exist in harmony with materials such as epoxy, metal, and wood, are among the main reasons Kayalıoğlu chooses ceramics as his primary medium of expression. Through forms that appear detached from reality, he aims to create space for moments and emotions that have become difficult to perceive within contemporary life.

Kayalıoğlu graduated from the Department of Ceramics at Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, and completed his master’s degree and proficiency in art at the same institution. He has worked as a research assistant and taught undergraduate-level courses in the Ceramics Departments of both Anadolu University and Mersin University. Conceptually, his work focuses on moments, boundaries, reflections, fragmentation, and play.

Ali Cihan Kayalıoğlu has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions and competitions, receiving several awards. Through his solo exhibitions An-Moment and Dialog – Dialogue, he invites the viewer to reconsider the fragile and transient nature of existence through the connections formed with his works.
